Meet Brenda Thomas

Brenda Thomas is a lifelong resident of Charles County, a retired federal employee, an experienced Office Manager, and a dedicated community leader. With a background in accounting, criminal law, contract management, and public service, she brings decades of hands‑on experience solving problems, managing budgets, and supporting families across the county. Her service on the School Board and her leadership in community organizations reflect her commitment to fairness, transparency, and strong public institutions.

Why I’m Running

Charles County is full of hardworking people who deserve safe neighborhoods, reliable infrastructure, quality healthcare, and economic opportunities close to home. I am running for County Commissioner to bring honest, accountable leadership that listens to residents and delivers real results. This campaign is not about politics—it is about service, community, and a shared vision for a better future.

Improving roads, strengthening emergency services, and maintaining public spaces are essential to our safety and quality of life. I will advocate for smart, forward‑looking investments that meet today’s needs and prepare us for tomorrow.

Economic Growth & Job Creation

A strong local economy keeps families rooted and thriving. I will work to attract new businesses, support local entrepreneurs, and create well‑paying jobs right here in Charles County.

Residents deserve a government that is open, accessible, and accountable. I will ensure that county decisions are made with integrity and that taxpayers have clear insight into how their dollars are spent.

Protecting our natural resources is essential to our health and our future. I will preserve open spaces, safeguard waterways, support clean energy, expand recycling, and develop a county‑wide climate resilience plan grounded in science and equity.
